English at C1 (Advanced)

At C1, a learner understands long, demanding texts of many kinds and notices what is meant without being said directly. They express themselves fluently and spontaneously, hardly ever having to think about how to say something. They use the language flexibly in social life, study and work. They write clear, well-structured, detailed texts on complex subjects and link the parts so that the reasoning is easy to follow.

Our C1 materials help with exactly that: academic vocabulary for essays and reports, discourse markers for building an argument, hedging and softening language, strong collocations of formal English, and idioms for work and negotiation. There are also topics on economics and finance, psychology, technology and society, and persuasion and propaganda. The exercises cover inversion after negative adverbials, mixed conditionals and word formation. This level is for learners who already speak with ease and want to sound more precise and natural.
