B2 Upper-intermediate
English at B2 (Upper-intermediate)
At B2, English becomes a working tool. A learner can follow the line of thought in long articles and talks, including those on their own professional subjects, and picks up not only the facts but also the writer's position. In conversation they keep up at a normal pace: they argue, agree and explain why they see things one way and not another. They write clear, connected texts on a wide range of subjects: a letter, a review, an essay with arguments for and against.
Our B2 sets cover public life: politics, the media and the news, the environment and climate, science and technology, business and marketing, and medicine. There are separate sets of phrasal verbs for work and for relationships, verb and noun collocations, adjectives with prepositions and the third part of the irregular verbs. The exercises practise modals of deduction, reported speech and the passive. This level is for anyone who wants to work or study in English.
