Numbers, dates and time: English by topic
Numbers, dates and time are needed from your first lessons: to say a price, to arrange a meeting, to read a timetable. At A1 the topic has a set with the numbers most often mixed up in speech and in spelling, and words for order and counting: thirteen and thirty, fifteen and fifty, hundred, thousand, first, third, twice. There is a set with the days of the week, the months and the words for dates: Monday, Wednesday, February, weekend, the day after tomorrow. And a set on the time on a clock: o'clock, half past, quarter to, midday, on time, and the question What time is it?. Start with the numbers, then go on to dates and time: without numbers you cannot say the day of the month or the hour. These words help when you book a doctor's appointment, buy a ticket or arrange to meet someone.
